In a shocking and tragic turn of events, Ayomide Adeleye, a student from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), has expressed deep remorse after being involved in the death of a fellow student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Speaking from custody, Ayomide reflected on the gravity of his actions. "I deeply regret my actions, especially considering the close bond between my mother and hers. I don't expect mercy for what I’ve done, but I do ask for forgiveness," he stated.

Clearly grappling with overwhelming guilt, Ayomide added, "What I did was wrong, and I fully deserve to face the consequences. Still, if there’s any chance for redemption, I would hope for one, but I know I deserve punishment for my crime."

He also admitted struggling with feelings of self-harm following the incident, confessing that during his time in detention, he contemplated ending his life as a way to atone for his actions. This heartbreaking situation serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of violence, leaving a trail of devastation for both the families involved and the larger community.
